About Us

The Dar es Salaam Yacht Club is a private members club governed by a set of Rules and Bye Laws created by its members. An elected committee of volunteers oversees the management of the club with day to day operations and services delivered by a staff of approximatley 80 employees.

The Club holds its’ Annual General Meeting in April each year where the annual report is presented and Committee members elected for the coming year. The Committee is supported by a number of sub-committee members who oversee the managment of the Club’s activities and events.

In addition to facilities for boats, the Club has many facilities including four catering facilities, three bars, a swimming pool, childrens play area and a beach area.


The catering facilites operate daily on a weekly timetable and offer a variety of menus:

Pharos Grill

Open Mondays to Saturdays 8am to 9pm

Beach Banda

Open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 5:30pm to 9pm for Pizzas, on Sundays 8:00am to 12noon for Breakfast, and on Sundays 6pm to 9pm for Fish Barbeque

Restaurant Area

Open on Fridays 6pm to 9pm and Sundays 12:30pm to 4pm for Barbeque meals


Areas of the club are also available for private hire by members. These areas include the Beach Banda, Lured Inn, Kids Bar and Restaurant area. All enquiries regarding private functions should be addressed to the DYC office.
